Wednesday morning before I left for work Tanya was having consistent contractions about 8-10 minutes apart. These continued throughout the day. She called me about 3:00 and they were then coming at about 5-7 minutes and they were starting to get uncomfortable. By the time I got home at 4:45 to pick her up for a Midwife appointment we already had scheduled, she was contracting every 3-5 minutes and pretty uncomfortable. At the appointment she was three centimeters dilated. They told us to go home and have dinner and come back if things intensified. I made her dinner and put her in the tub at home and by 9:00 the contractions were 2 minutes apart and about 1.5 minutes long; she was in a lot of pain. We got her to the Midwife clinic by 10:00 pm and she was 6-7 cm dilated. We got her into the hot tub at the clinic at about 10:45 and she had the baby at 12:21. We came home at 3:00 am--Tanya climbed the double flight of stairs to get into our apartment on her own (she's amazing!).
Sterling weighed in at 8 lbs even and was 21 inches long. He let out a good little cry almost as soon as his head broke the surface of the tub. Everyone's doing great--a little sleep deprived, but doing really well! ; ) I know that I'm biased, but I think he's the first really cute baby I've ever seen! ; ) ...fyi, I've honestly never thought that babies are very cute, guess I've been converted. : )

Congratulations Tim and Tanya!!! So fun to see the pictures. Sterling is adorable! You guys look so cute with him. You're going to be awesome parents. We praise God with you on a healthy baby and wonderful birth. It is an amazing time! Love you so much!
